Over three million Canadians are affected by Rosacea. It is a chronic inflammatory skin condition.

Rosacea is a skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in your face. Sometimes it may also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps. Bumpy swollen skin on the nose is called rhinophyma.

If you experience persistent redness of your face and have seen a doctor with little or no resolve. Then its time to contact Redeem Medispa for your treatment.

Some of the Misconceptions about Rosacea

It’s due to poor hygiene — Rosacea isn’t caused by not washing enough. In fact, because rosacea skin tends to be dry and sensitive over-washing it can make symptoms worse.

Rosacea is a form of acne — treating rosacea with acne creams could cause more irritation to the skin, as the acne creams dry out the skin even more.

It’s due to high blood pressure — this is another common misconception that high blood pressure produces facial flushing.

It’s a bad sunburn or a frost bite— Due to the redness that resembles rosacea, people may assume that you have sun or cold burned skin.

The cause of rosacea is unknown, but it could be due to a combination of hereditary and environmental factors. Some of the triggers of rosacea are:

  • Alcohol
  • Spicy foods
  • Extreme sunlight or wind
  • Harsh temperatures; hot or cold
  • Emotional state
  • Certain drugs i.e. blood pressure medication
  • High impact exercise

Topical Your dermatologist can prescribe topical drugs for rosacea and recommend appropriate skin care products and cosmetics. These drugs are thought to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Laser Therapy. At Redeem Medispa we have helped many patients with rosacea using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) system. This involves using light energy to treat visible red blood vessels and redness in rosacea that does not respond to other types of therapy.

The light energy is specifically targeted to treat the rosacea. Using relatively low-energy, short-pulse broadband light, imperfections such as erythema of rosacea and superficial telangiectasia can be gently heated and reduced or eliminated.

Hydrating and Calming Facial In addition to IPL a hydration facial is also very calming to rosacea skin. Especially when the skin is dry and cracking. Book your free skin assessment at and get relief for your rosacea skin.

Non Surgical

During my early twenties I suffered from a horrible outbreak of cystic acne. Most of it consisted around my jawline, cheeks and temples. It hasn’t been until recently I started noticing that the scars left behind were getting increasingly noticeable.. particularly around my temples and the skin seemed to look “sunken” in. Part of it is due to aging and the other losing weight. The worst part that I felt was makeup made it look worse as after a few hours it would sink in and enhance them further. After my first fractional I noticed a minor improvement -lightening of these scars in terms of colour and only a mild softening. After my second fractional I noticed more smoother scaring however wanted to see more of a change with the skin around my temples..the change I could only see with pictures.
I recently just had my third fractional and there is a huge difference! The scars are much lighter and look less hollow..the ones around my temples finally seem to be leveling out and overall my complexion is more brighter and even!
Thank you. My skin B4 l came for the treatment was very pigmented and dark spots around my lips. After the treatment of microdermabrasion and fractional my skin looks great. My scars are light, the dark spots are diminishing slowly. I got so many compliments from my co-workers on how great my skin looks. I’m so glad l decided to go for the treatment. Thanks Redeem staff for making me look young and beautiful. They are great and very friendly. I will recommend them to all my friends and family.
