There is a procedure called blepharoplasty for people who complain a lot about under eye bags and tired looking eyes. This procedure is helpful in rejuvenating puffy, sagging eye bags or tired looking eyes by simply removing excess fat from the upper and lower eye lids.
The skin around the eyes is very delicate and as we age this is the first area that starts showing signs of aging due to less elasticity or frequent rubbing of eyes due to allergies. This procedure is performed by a doctor under local anesthesia. No bandages required after the procedure. Patients can resume their activities within a couple of days. To remove fat from the upper eyelid the surgeon will make an incision in the natural creases of the upper eyelid and remove the excess fat and for lower eyelids the incision will be just close to the eye lashes, which is less visible after the surgery. If the patient only wants to remove the excess fat not the skin then the incision is going to be inside the eyelid which will have no scar after the procedure. The procedure takes about one to two hours and if it is just the lower eyelid or just the upper eyelid then it is even less than that.
This surgery can be done under local anesthesia or just a little sedation and the patient can go home after the surgery.
